Exploring Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Metaverse with AR Experience

Lugano Chinese Students' Union Launch the event : Exploring Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Metaverse (With AR Experience). Collaborates with HGVIS X Baris Gencel. And partnership with Metagate and Over the Reality.

In a remarkable fusion of culture, technology, and innovation, the Lugano Chinese Students' Union recently joined forces with HGVIS to present a captivating exploration of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. This intriguing blend of tradition and the cutting edge took place on October 25th, as part of Lugano University's Chinese Culture Day.

In the event, Trisa - the AI-Brian avatar from Over the Reality X HGVIS will be personally greeted all the guests. Thanks to #AR technology, everyone could engage in real-time conversations with her in the physical world, providing a unique technological marvel. It was a rare opportunity to step into a future where the virtual and real coexist seamlessly.

Led by the HGVIS digital fashion art platform and our community creator-MINGMING WU, together we co-create a series of #Phygital Hanfu. Starting from the digital Hanfu, which were then transformed into physical garments. This collaboration emphasized the revival of Hanfu fashion through the clever use of Augmented Reality (#AR) technology. It seamlessly blended the digital and physical worlds, allowing people to experience Hanfu and Chinese culture firsthand, achieving a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation. During the event, we had the chance to experience the unique interaction between physical Hanfu and their digital twins.

Renowned artist Baris Gencel, inspired by Chinese elements, created a series of contemporary artworks that offered a fresh perspective on traditional Chinese culture. His participation added an additional layer of artistic depth to this cultural exchange.

The involvement of HGVIS community creators and artists emphasized the idea that art and culture transcend geographical boundaries; they are universal languages that go beyond borders. Through technology, we can not only preserve cultural heritage but also make it accessible and engaging for a global audience. The digital age has the potential to serve as a bridge connecting people from around the world and promoting a deeper appreciation for the beauty and diversity of world cultures.

A big thanks to our technical support partners, Metagate - Milano and Over the Reality, for their invaluable contributions in turning this event into reality. Their expertise in augmented reality and the metaverse added an extra layer of charm to the entire experience.
